Provenance	Bookplate listing “A Goulds Library No. 49” Book owned since the 1960’s to 2023 by descendants of Amos Gould, (1808-1882) from Cayuga, NY (less than 40 miles from Palmyra, NY) and moved to Owosso, MI. Owner recalled as a child in the 1960’s that their grandfather talked about having the book in his possession.
Unique Features	Spine: Intact. Signs of cracking and leather deterioration as common with age. Spine Lettering and Label: Black title ribbon present and secure. Embossed title lettering visible, but gold text has faded. Cover: Intact and still attached to spine. Normal wear around edges Binding: Original binding. Front and back end papers present. Title Page: present and attached. Triangular page cockling present on all four corners and diagonal from lower left corner to middle right edge. Text: Full text, no pages found missing. Witness page present and attached in back. Normal signs of foxing throughout text block. Clean text, no annotations listed. Triangular cockling similar to title page present in beginning pages of text. Inscription: Bookplate sticker listing “A Goulds Library No 49” on inside front pastedown. Notes: Preface page “vi”.
